Home > Just for Kids > Timelines > Creating a Timeline

Draw a horizontal line and put all of the events in your life on the lower line (below the line) and then put all the things that have gone on in our countryís history or your townís history above the line, as a contrast. Sometimes the two may be linked.

For instance below the line will be information such as the following:

  • When and where you were born
  • The date you started school
  • When you lost your first tooth
  • The dates your siblings were born

You decide the significant events of your life and place that information in your timeline.

Above the line you want to place your milestones within the history of your town or the country in which they occurred. Examples are:

  • The year a particular president was elected
  • The date your school was built
