The
White House
Washington
July
21, 1999
Dear
Friends,
I
am pleased to have this opportunity to send greetings
to each of you attending the unveiling of BostonFamilyHistory.com,
the new web site of the Boston History Collaborative.
When
President Clinton and I created the White House Millennium
Council, we invited all Americans to join us in activities
that embody our national theme, "Honor the Past
-- Imagine the Future." One of the best ways we
can imagine our future is to preserve what we value
of our past. I am grateful for the efforts of the Boston
History Collaborative to provide a unique way for Americans
to trace their ancestry and to learn about the important
contributions that immigrants have made to Boston and
our nation as a whole. It is my hope that projects such
as BostonFamilyHistory.com will encourage a national
effort to take this unique moment in time to ensure
that we pass on to our children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren both the symbols and the gifts of
liberty and creativity that make us who we are.
Please
accept my best wishes for a wonderful day.
Sincerely
yours,
Hillary
Rodham Clinton
